Terms of use

1. Who we are

Oddjob Tools is run by [Company legal name], a company registered in England and Wales under number [company number], with its registered office at [registered address] (“we”, “us”).

These terms form the agreement between you and us when you use Oddjob Tools. Please read them together with our Privacy notice.

2. Your account

• You need an account to run jobs. You must be at least 18, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
• Give a real email address you can access. We use it to confirm your account and for password resets.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for jobs run from your account.
• One person per account. Accounts can’t be sold or shared.

3. Credits and payment

Credits are sold in fixed packs:

• Prices include VAT where it applies [confirm VAT status].
• Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
• Each job shows its price in credits before it starts. Credits are taken only when you press start.
• Credits are a prepaid way to pay for jobs on Oddjob Tools. They have no cash value and can’t be withdrawn, exchanged for money, or transferred to another account or person.
• Credits don’t expire while your account is open [decide: keep, or set an expiry such as 24 months].
• New accounts may receive free credits. Free credits can’t be refunded.
• We may change pack prices or job prices. Changes never affect credits you have already bought, or a job whose price you have already been shown and accepted.

4. Refunds and cancelling

• Failed jobs: if a job fails, its credits go back to your balance automatically.
• Unused credits: you can ask for a refund of a pack within 14 days of buying it, as long as none of its credits have been used. Email [contact email].
• Used credits: when you start a job you ask us to supply it straight away, and you agree that you lose the right to cancel once it has been supplied. This doesn’t affect your rights if a result is faulty.
• Faulty results: if a result is clearly not what the tool describes, tell us within 14 days and we will return the credits or rerun the job.
• If we close the service: we will give at least 30 days’ notice and refund unused paid credits.

Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.

5. Using the tools

Each tool does what its page describes, within the limits shown there (file types, size and length).

Caption maker

Captions are generated from the video’s speech and can contain errors. Check them before you publish.

Silence remover

Cuts are made automatically by volume. Check the result before you publish.

Vertical video maker

Fits your video into a new shape without cropping; the empty space is filled with a blurred copy or black.

We aim to keep Oddjob Tools available but can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted. We may change or improve the tools.

6. Your files and rights

• You keep all rights in the files you upload and the results you download.
• You give us permission to store and process your files only to run the jobs you ask for. We pass them to the AI providers listed in our Privacy notice for that purpose only.
• You must have the right to use what you upload: it must be yours, or you must have permission from whoever owns it and from the people shown in it.
• We delete uploads and results after 24 hours. You can delete any job sooner from your account. Download anything you want to keep.

7. What you must not do

• Upload anything illegal, including sexual content involving anyone under 18, or content that harasses, threatens or exploits others.
• Upload other people’s photos, recordings or documents without the right to do so.
• Use the tools to deceive people, for example passing off an altered photo as an unedited record.
• Try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the limits or payment system of Oddjob Tools.
• Use Oddjob Tools to move money or to pay for anything other than jobs on this site.

We may refuse a job, remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and report illegal content to the authorities.

8. About AI results

Most tools use AI models from third-party providers. Their results are produced automatically, can be wrong or incomplete, and may differ each time you run a job. Review results before you rely on them or publish them.

9. Our responsibility

• We provide the tools with reasonable care and skill.
• We are not responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, for business losses, or for decisions you make based on a result.
• Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Ending your account

You can stop using Oddjob Tools at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing [contact email]. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close your account without a good reason, we will refund unused paid credits.

11. Changes and law

We may update these terms. We will tell you about important changes by email or on the site before they apply. If you keep using Oddjob Tools after that, the new terms apply.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
